Sudoku Stars Terms of Use

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are between you and [OWNER LEGAL NAME], an individual, of [ADDRESS] ("we", "us"), the publisher of Sudoku Stars for iPhone ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who may use the app

  • The app is for people 13 and older. If you are under 13, do not use it.
  • If the law where you live sets a higher age to use an app like this, you need to meet that age or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
  • The app does not ask your age and does not check it.
  • You also need to follow Apple's terms for your Apple account and the App Store.

3. Use of the app

  • We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on iPhones that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
  • Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, remove its notices, or use it to harm others or the services it relies on.
  • Do not try to get around the way ads or purchases work, and do not use cheats, bots or tools that interfere with the app or its stores.
  • The app works offline and without an account. Your progress, stats, streak, hint wallet and settings are stored on your device. If you delete the app or use "Delete my data", they are removed and we cannot restore them. Version 1 has no cloud backup of our own.
  • The content of the app (puzzles, art, sounds, text, design and the character "Ki") belongs to us or our licensors. Puzzles can be played; they may not be republished at scale.
  • We may update the app, remove features and change puzzles or events. We will try to keep this from harming your purchases.

4. Virtual items (hints)

  • Hints are a virtual item inside the app. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or other items, and cannot be transferred to other people.
  • Hints you buy are consumable: each hint is used up when you reveal cells with it. Opening the explanation of a hint costs nothing.
  • Hints you buy never expire. We do not take them away with time, and we do not reset the balance you bought.
  • You get free hints (a small number each day and at install) and can earn more by watching optional rewarded videos or through in-game awards. Free and earned hints follow fixed limits shown in the app, and those limits may change.
  • Hints you buy are stored on your device. Restore purchases does not bring them back, and they may not come back after you reinstall the app. "Delete my data" removes them. Back up your device if you want to keep them.
  • Nothing in the app is random or sold as a chance. Every hint pack gives a fixed number of hints.

5. Purchases and refunds

  • Items for sale (prices are shown in the App Store sheet, in your currency):
  • Remove Ads (one-time purchase)
  • Hint packs of 10, 35 and 100 hints (consumable)
  • Starter Bundle (Remove Ads plus 35 hints, one-time purchase)
  • All purchases are made through the Apple App Store. Apple collects payment, handles billing problems and decides refunds. We do not see your card or Apple ID details and we cannot refund a payment ourselves.
  • To ask for a refund, use Apple's refund process. If Apple refunds a purchase, the app removes the matching item: Remove Ads is turned off, and bought hints are subtracted down to zero.
  • Restore purchases brings back Remove Ads and the Remove Ads part of the Starter Bundle on a device signed in with the same Apple account. Consumable hints are not restored.
  • Family Sharing is off for Remove Ads.
  • If you are in a region where you have a legal right to withdraw from a digital purchase, that right is handled by Apple's process.
  • Prices can change. A price change never affects something you have already bought.
  • Real store prices only: the price on the App Store sheet is the price you pay.

6. Ads and rewards

  • The app is free to download and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. Ads are not shown in your first session.
  • Banner ads appear on the game screen. Full-screen ads appear between puzzles, after you tap to continue, never while you play and never when you lose a puzzle. Rewarded videos are optional.
  • A rewarded video tells you what you get before it starts. You get the reward only after the video is completed. If you close it early, or it fails to load, you do not get the reward. You never have to watch one to play.
  • Remove Ads removes banners and full-screen ads. It does not remove optional rewarded videos, and it does not remove anything else. Nothing else is promised about ads.
  • Ads come from third parties. We are not responsible for the products or content of advertisers, but you can report an ad from Settings > Privacy and data.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what the app collects and your choices. It is part of these terms. The links to the Privacy Policy, these terms and support open in your phone's web browser, not inside the app.

8. Daily puzzles, events and rankings

  • Daily puzzles, monthly trophies, streaks and seasonal events are provided for fun. Dates are based on the date on your device, and we may change or end them.
  • Streak freezes and similar items are in-game and cannot be bought.

9. Availability

  • The app needs iOS 17 or later on an iPhone. We may stop offering the app in some countries or regions.
  • Puzzles work without a connection. Ads, purchases, restoring purchases and downloading settings need an internet connection.
  • We try to keep the app running, but it may be unavailable at times, for example for fixes.

10. Subscriptions (reserved, not part of this version)

Status: [WHEN SHIPPED]. A paid subscription called Sudoku Stars Plus is planned for a later version. It does not exist in this version and no part of the app needs it. If it is added, its price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before you subscribe, and they will be added to these terms.

11. Warranty disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be error free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

12. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data (including lost progress or hints from deleting the app, device loss or device failure), or lost profit, and our total liability for the app is limited to the amount you paid us through the App Store for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud) or your mandatory consumer rights.

13. Ending your use

You can stop at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 3, 11 and 12) continue after that.

14. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance or support. Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement applies to the app as well, and these terms add to it. If the two disagree about something Apple's agreement covers, Apple's agreement comes first.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of. This does not remove consumer protection rights that apply where you live, and nothing here stops you from using courts or authorities in your own country where you have that right.

16. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the app or the law change. We will update the "Last updated" date and publish the new version at https://sudokustars.luminastudio.ai/terms. If you keep using the app after a change that matters, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, stop using the app.
